The card that is still right after you change agency
Your listings change weekly and your details change with the brokerage. A printed card cannot keep up with either — a digital one is edited once and every code you have already handed out points at the new version.
The problem
Boxes of cards that are wrong by the time they arrive
Agents order five hundred cards, change brokerage eighteen months later, and throw away four hundred of them. In between, the card carries a phone number that still works and a listing link that does not, because the property sold in March.
And the card is the least useful thing in the exchange. Somebody at an open house takes it, means to call, and finds it in a coat pocket in July. Nothing about a piece of card lets you know they were interested, or lets them save your number without typing it in.
Why it fits this job
Three things a printed card cannot do at an open house
Your current listings, always
Put your listing links on the card and change them whenever the portfolio does. Add a Calendly block and a viewing is booked from the card itself rather than through a phone call neither of you gets round to.
They leave their details, not just take yours
Turn on the capture form and a visitor can send you their name, email and phone in the moment. That is the half a paper card never had — you find out who was interested rather than hoping they call.
It survives the move
Change brokerage and you edit the company name, the logo and the colors once. Every QR code on a For Sale board, a window card or a business card already in circulation now shows the new one.
In practice
A Saturday viewing, start to finish
You put a QR code on the window card and the brochure. A visitor scans it on the way in — no app, no account, nothing to install — and your card opens with your photo, your number and the listing. They tap once to save you to their contacts, and their phone now holds a number that will still be right next year.
On the way out they leave their details on the form. That evening the lead is in your dashboard, already typed, and in your CRM too if you have connected one. You know how many people opened the card, which listing links they clicked, and who left an email — none of which a stack of returned cards would ever have told you.
More on digital business cardsQuestions agents ask
- Can I have a different card for each listing?
- You can have several cards — a paid individual plan is unlimited for your own use, with a fair-use ceiling of 15. Most agents keep one card and change the listing links on it, because the QR codes already printed keep pointing at the same card.
- What happens to my cards if I change brokerage?
- You edit the company name, logo and colors, and every code already out there shows the new version. If your old brokerage owned the workspace and removes you, your account stays and drops to free limits — the cards made under that workspace belong to them, which is worth knowing before you build your whole presence inside a company account.
- Do I need to pay for every agent in the office?
- Only if you want one workspace controlling the branding. Team is per seat with a three-seat minimum, so a small office is $30 a month, and the broker sets the logo and template once for everybody. Individual agents can also just buy Pro at $7 a month each.
- Can I put the QR code on a For Sale board?
- Yes. The code encodes your card's address and nothing else, so it does not go out of date as long as that address stays the same — and changing the address is limited to twice a year for exactly this reason. Print it as large as you like.
- Does the visitor need to install anything?
- No, and that is what makes it work at a viewing. They point their camera at the code and the card opens in the browser they already have. No app, no account, nothing to sign up for.
